Caid's Pentathlon 2009 was held in the Barony of [[Altavia]] and was a grand event of arts and sciences. It also featured a craftsman village on Saturday while the official judging was underway.

Greetings unto the Populace of the Kingdom of Caid!  
Greetings unto the Craftsmen of the Kingdom of Caid!  Let it be known to all corners of the Kingdom that the Crown Jewel of Arts and Science events, the Caid Arts and Sciences Faire and Pentathlon, is now here!!  Come and journey to the fair Barony of Altavia on April 25th and 26th 2009 and enjoy the company of other kindred souls who practice an Art or Science.  Come and bask in the beauty this Kingdom has wrought!
 
We proudly announce that due to the overwhelming response from this great Kingdom’s artisans we are moving this event to a NEW SITE!! Our new host site is Mulholland Middle School.
 
If you have entered either the Arts and Sciences Faire or Pentathlon itself, please note as stated under General Rules for the Arts and Science Faire and Pentathlon:
 
1. All entrants must be checked in, with their entries, by 9:00 AM on Saturday.  This includes performance entrants.  Late entries cannot be accepted.
 
2. Unless approved by the Autocrat prior to the event, only the entrant is allowed to set up their displays.  Helpers are strongly encouraged for anyone who has multiple entries to set up. You will only be allowed between 9:00 and 10:00 a.m. to set up your entries. Please plan accordingly!  


Though it is still a year away, believe it or not, it is time for this Kingdom’s Artisans to start thinking about entering the Caid Arts and Sciences Fair and Pentathlon!  This event is the Premier Showcase for the Artisans of this Kingdom.  If you are an Artisan this is your moment to shine! And if you make anything at all no matter how large or small, you are an Artisan!  It doesn’t matter whether you are an Apprentice or a Master or Mistress or your given Art, what is important is that you have a talent or knowledge that is valuable and you should share it!
::To register Helpers: Send the entry steward a list of their names. Your helpers will not be allowed into the judging areas until they have signed in at gate, so make sure they arrive in time to make it through gate by 9am.


The most important thing to keep in mind is that the deadline for registering to participate in the Arts and Sciences Fair and Pentathlon Competition is SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 7, 2009.   That may seen like quite a bit away, but trust me, deadlines have a way of creeping up on you when you are least looking!!!
3.  Performers must check in at their performance location at least 15 minutes before their scheduled performance.


I invite anyone who knows how to do anything to submit an entry for Pentathlon.  You do not have to enter the Pentathlon Competition to submit an entry. The point is to share your talent and knowledge with the populace of this Kingdom. Who knows who you will inspire!
Priority will be given to Arts and Sciences Faire and Pentathlon Entrants at Gate, but please, please allow yourself plenty of travel time to the event and get through gate by 9:00 a.m.


My dedicated Pentathlon Staff and I are committed to making this Arts and Sciences event as user friendly as possible and to that end we are soliciting feedback from the populace.  If you have entered in the past, we want to hear what you liked about the event, and most importantly what you didn’t.  If something happened that has discouraged you from entering in the future, please tell us.  We cannot make improvements if we are not made aware of the problems.  If you have never entered and are afraid to, tell us why!  If there is something the staff can do to make Pentathlon easier to participate in for the budding artisan, please help us make that happen.  If you have suggestions for new categories or changes, we want to hear about that as well!  Our goal is to make this an event where Artisans wish to display what they have poured their hearts and souls into.

:Please stop by and visit the village…you never know what you might learn and never, never underestimate what you have to share!  Bring your unfinished projects and visit those who share your interest in the Arts and Sciences! 
 
:We will be hosting costumers, weavers and spinners, wood workers, bubbly dye pots, illuminators and calligraphers, heraldic consultation, metalworkers, brewers, leatherworkers and more!!!  Again, this is the place to be if you want to learn a new art or have a skill or knowledge you want to share.

If you are coming from lands afar, we will have a limited amount of crash space available on a first come, first served basis.
