Update to Fix Page

Help:Fix is where I am storing all the things to do and what needs to be focused on. We all have our own pet projects, but if you could also keep an eye on this page, that would be helpful.

More on images

Can someone tell me how to upload a photo when it's on a website? Thanks! Aliskye 17:27, 17 April 2009 (PDT)

  • There may be an easier way but you can always download it to your hard drive and then upload it to the Wiki. That also gives you the opportunity to crop or otherwise alter the image for the best presentation before you upload it. Be sure to add proper credit for the photographer/artist/etc. to the comments section when you upload.--James the Inconstant 19:21, 17 April 2009 (PDT)
    • I like what you did on Agatha's page. Should we make that the new format? It's nice and clean. Aliskye 13:08, 28 April 2009 (PDT) P.S. And thanks for putting the link to Scribes on the main page. That's perfect!
      • I like it fine! I'm just going to cut and paste it so it won't be that much more difficult for me to use. Thank you so much!!!!! Aliskye 13:29, 28 April 2009 (PDT)

And clearly the asterisks don't work as I thought they did.  :) Aliskye 13:30, 28 April 2009 (PDT)

Lyondemere Stuff

Thomas wants to shut down the Lyondemere Wiki (as redundant now) and I'm trying to figure out where to put stuff. Where do we put info about officers and practices (for example archery practice and former archery captains?) Thanks! Aliskye 14:16, 27 April 2009 (PDT)

Crown Poems

A Chronicle of Fall Crown Tourney A.S. XLIII is now fully online (well I need to work on Mora's one)... I can't remember who you said was looking for it from before. --Kolfinna 10:34, 28 April 2009 (PDT)

Templates

I don't like how it doesn't wrap. Makes it harder to copy and paste. I don't know what else would be a good solution. --Kolfinna 17:04, 29 April 2009 (PDT)

    • What does wikipedia proper use for it's template explanations? No point in reinventing the wheel. --Kolfinna 17:27, 29 April 2009 (PDT)

Scroll Stuff

I've made a lot of progress adding scroll images and linking them to the pages of the Scribes. I'm looking to the future though, and wonder if

  • 1) the Category: Scrolls page could show the lettered index before the numbered one (right now it shows all the year categories first, which is less useful then the alpha index.)
  • 2) I know there is one Laurel scroll in the Laurel scroll category but that's not showing up in the index.
  • 3) Eowyn Amberdrake's name shows up at the very end of the alpha index on the Category: Scribes page because there is a (whatever it's called) mark over the E. It makes it hard to find her. Should there be a redirect page? (or something)
  • 4) Is there a way to caption all the scroll thumbnails on the Category: Scrolls page? I envision a page with the scroll thumbnails captioned with who it's for in one big set (in addition to the links on each scribes page.) Or would that have to be a totally separete page? Aliskye 11:45, 14 May 2009 (PDT)
    • I think you are right regarding the year categories. Can we get rid of those without a lot of fuss? I'd love to post which scrolls were presented which year but that's a project for the future (and I don't have all that data.) Re: The scroll page: I'll look into tables. Another project for the future. :) Aliskye 13:59, 14 May 2009 (PDT)

Laurel Scrolls

Click (next 200) twice. It appears that sub categories show up alphabetically with those within the main category.

  • To completely remove the (year) scrolls category, yes you would have to remove it from each individual page. However you could just remove it from obvious linking by removing the category:scrolls link on each of the year pages. That would stop it from being a sub category... --Kolfinna 14:08, 14 May 2009 (PDT)
  • Is there a way to get the Index to list all the types of scrolls on the same page? Aliskye 15:04, 14 May 2009 (PDT)
