The Shire of WintermistRRE covers western Kern County, CA, most notably Bakersfield, Edwards Air Force Base, China Lake NAWS, and parts of the Los Padres and Sequoia National Parks. The name refers to the thick fog that envelopes the area in the wintertime. The Shire's newsletter is Tales from the Mist.
